Been in Newcastle for two hours, and I already want to leave. I don’t want to sit an exam! I want to be outside, in the sunshine, re-reading The Great Gatsby for the umpteenth time. Maybe I shall ignore all Genesis-related questions on Thursday, and write about Jay and Daisy instead.

I had one of the best days ever yesterday. My friend Nikki, who I haven’t seen since just after Christmas (!), drove to my house. It has been exactly one week since I started my diet, and gave up sweets/chocolate/etc. and NOW what am I craving (after Googling desserts, admittedly)… a Knickerbocker Glory. I haven’t eaten one since I visited Deal, when I was about 9 years old - a proper one, with toasted nuts, and a glacé cherry on the top. Yum! Ice cream or burgundy leather trousers… Hmmm.
